Hello everybody! Once again we have a whole bunch of folks who have signed up for this newsletter- welcome! We here at FG Minnesota are scrambling to dodge the Omicron wave. Unfortunately, we have not been as successful as we have been in the past 22 months of the pandemic. There have been several shifts we simply have not been able to cover, and the store or stores were closed those shifts. We are doing our best to keep stuff open, but there will continue to be shifts we can’t cover in the future. For similar reasons, we have decided not to be out at Pride again this year. We may change our minds if the staffing situation changes and the covid transmission rates are under 2-3 %, and there is time to get it put together (and of course there must still be space available).
We have been doing fairly well with getting merchandise in, but when it arrives is still a bit of mystery. Companies that would ship and get it to us in a week or two are now taking 4-6 weeks to arrive. And with our staff shortages it takes a few days longer to get it to the stores after that. Price increases are happening too, and we are only maintaining the same markup and in no way are price gouging. A quick reminder that if you see something on Amazon for a crap ton less it is either stolen or a fake. So many of our companies don’t even allow their items to be sold on Amazon because of the number of fakes. Everything at FG is from the original manufacturers that we have decades long relationships with.
