I haven’t written much in the past ten months my brain just hasn’t had the energy for it, not that I did many blogs in the past but working on keeping the staff safe as retail is not a work from home kind of job didn’t leave me a lot of brain power to write.
Even though our merchandise is important for overall physical and mental health it did seem awkward to gush about a new product with so much heartache in our state, country and world, but as we now have vaccines be distributed here in Minnesota, and an administration that is taking the pandemic seriously, taking the time to write about what is going on here at Fantasy Gifts Minnesota can occupy some brain space again.
Maintaining the new website is taking a fair amount of time for the staff and until I was finally smart enough to print postage from my desk I was spending time waiting in line at the local post office. It has been fun making deliveries too, I once got an order to someone in 48 minutes and they lived 30 minutes away! We had a issue with our credit card processor dropping us with 18 day notice and then issues locating a new company but we did get one and then another one that can accommodate our gift cards, that took months of work to get in place but we issue and redeem Gift Cards again Yay!!
We were only getting in 40-60% of orders for a while as companies worked to keep their warehouse and other staff safe, we appreciate all the understanding from our wonderful customers as we worked to keep the stores stocked. Fulfilment is getting better judging by the pallets in my warehouse right now.
For the most part folks are wearing masks when they come into he stores as I haven’t send mask refund on the register readouts as much, (we refund the dollar cost if a of the mask if you make a purchase) I am still appalled at the folks who still walk in with it under their nose on their chin. Masks will still need to be worn for quite some time as even if you have a vaccine that doesn’t mean you can’t spread the damn covid to others and with many of staff being younger it will be a while before they are able to get vaccinated. Please be kind, be respectful and wear a mask.
